May was great for the “Living Record”. I learned so much. The people who showed up were the inspiration and energy we needed to perform these songs in the moment. This was just an idea that I had to stop hiding in studios and surgically working on songs and I held faith that it was going to work so well….. What the crowd brought was the energy to stand on the edge and be alive in the moment. Just like the performance, the recording has been in the same process. You try to be prepared to get something, but it is up to the Spirit of the Universe. I can say that we have gotten great tracks and more then enough stuff to work with.
I have not been excited like this for awhile. I feel like we are inside something that all my self-centered fears can’t be present. It is freeing! I have my friend Brenda Lee coming over to sing some harmonies and get her ready for the live show. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again June 28th!
